This Cookie Policy explains how Bytecly uses cookies and similar technologies on bytecly.com.

Bytecly uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site. Analytics are consent-gated using Google Consent Mode v2: no analytics cookies are set until you explicitly accept on the cookie consent banner. Advertising, remarketing, and personalization signals are permanently disabled.

What Cookies and Similar Technologies Are

Cookies are small files stored on your device by a website. Similar technologies, such as localStorage, can also store information in your browser. They may be used to remember preferences, operate a site, improve security, or measure usage.

What Bytecly Uses Today

The website stores your consent decision in browser localStorage. If you have accepted analytics, Google Analytics (GA4) sets cookies to measure site visits. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set.

  • Name: bytecly_cookie_consent_v1 | Type: localStorage | Purpose: stores your Accept or Decline decision for analytics cookies | Duration: until browser site data is cleared | Category: necessary preference
  • Name: _ga | Type: cookie | Purpose: distinguishes unique visitors for Google Analytics | Duration: 2 years | Category: analytics — set only after you accept
  • Name: _ga_<container> | Type: cookie | Purpose: maintains analytics session state for Google Analytics | Duration: 2 years | Category: analytics — set only after you accept

What Bytecly Does Not Use Today

  • No Google Tag Manager is mounted.
  • No advertising, retargeting, or cross-context behavioral advertising cookies are set.
  • Google Analytics ad signals (ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization) are permanently disabled.
  • No contact-form values are sent to analytics.
  • No application-side inquiry database is used by the public contact form.

Contact Form Security

The contact endpoint uses lightweight server-side rate limiting and honeypot behavior to reduce spam and abuse. This protection does not require a browser cookie.

Analytics and Your Choices

Google Analytics is loaded only when a GA4 measurement ID is configured for the deployment. If the measurement ID is not set, no GA scripts load regardless of your consent choice.

Until you accept, no Google Analytics scripts load and nothing is sent to Google. If you decline, Google Analytics is never loaded and no analytics data leaves your browser.

If you accept, Google Analytics loads, the _ga and _ga_<container> cookies are set, and it measures page views and site usage. Advertising and personalization signals stay disabled. Your choice is stored locally and applied on every subsequent visit.

Managing Browser Storage

You can clear cookies and localStorage through your browser settings. Clearing site data for bytecly.com removes your consent decision and the cookie consent banner will reappear on your next visit.
